New Ecological Ways to Get Around
Cities are becoming more and more congested, schedules more complicated… Life is changing every minute of the day. We spend so much time moving around from place to place and most of that time in vehicles that only seem to cause us stress.
A new tendency to care for our environment is all around us. Human beings are beginning to realize our effect on our planet and are creating biodegradable materials, electronic cars, self-sufficient buildings etc… and everyday more and more people are making a commitment to change their consumption habits. The ones that are probably the most conscious about their habits are the ”geeks” or tech fanatics who have over the past year changed their ways of getting around cities and have literally motorized their steps.
With just the turn of the head you can see someone who looks like they are flying with a wheel in between their legs… pretty much defying all balance logic. Revolutionary products like spnKiX, which runs on lithium batteries, are motorized skates that are controlled by a wireless remote. All the hardware and electronics are integrated with a type of reinforced nylon. The motor and battery are at the feet. We also have MonoRover R2, a motorized skate that works with your own balance in each foot to better your own equilibrium. But the riskiest design is probably the Airwhell: a motorized unicycle that tests your balancing skills while dedicated to the environment.
